Planning for the future

All water companies in England and Wales are required to produce a Water Resources Management Plan setting out how they will secure water supplies for at least the next 25 years. This involves looking in detail at the availability of water supplies and forecasting demand, and assessing options to re-balance any gap between supply and demand.

You can view our current Water Resources Management Plan in our Publications section. We have also submitted a revised version of our next plan, which is due for publication in 2019.

We would like to work with other parties that could offer solutions, either in the form of new water supplies or ways to reduce demand from our customers. This could involve partnerships with individuals, landowners, businesses or technology companies. If you would like to submit a proposal to us, please look at the information in our market information tables

If we consider an idea to be viable, we will look into whether it could be part of our next plan. We can accept solutions from both within and outside of our supply area, and involving either raw or treated water supplies.
