Revised Draft Water Resources Management Plan 2019

Planning water resources is a long-term business. That’s why we look ahead 60 years to understand how much water will be available and how much we will need to supply.

Every five years we develop a Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) that sets out how we plan to provide secure, reliable water supplies for our customers now and in the future.

It considers how the world around us is changing and plans for population growth, climate change and to protect the local environment. The first five year of our WRMP will be delivered through our Business Plan 2020 to 2025.

We launched a public consultation on our draft Water Resources Management Plan on 5 March 2018 which was open until 25 May 2018.  We reviewed the feedback we received and published a Statement of Response.

As a result, we updated our draft WRMP and submitted this to Defra for approval in September 2018. In January 2019, Defra requested further information. As a result we submitted a revised draft WRMP in April 2019. Details of the information requested by Defra, and how this is reflected in the latest version of the plan, can be viewed in the updated Statement of Response. We have also made some amendments to the WRMP tables. The downloads available contain the latest documents.
