Saving Water

With above average rainfall over the past few years we currently have a good level of water resources to meet our customers' needs. However, don't forget the drought conditions of 2005 and 2006 - the worst drought in the south-east of England for 100 years. Climate change predictions suggest that in the future we will have hotter, drier summers in this part of the country. As it is, south-east England receives 50% less rainfall on average than the rest of the UK, and also has one of the highest consumption rates per person.

We are committed to tackling leakage, by consistently meeting the targets set by Ofwat, as well as promoting metering across our region. We believe this is the best way to manage demand in the long term, alongside encouraging our customers to use water more wisely.
